In addition to competition, performance is an integral part of the O'Grady-Quinlan Academy's multidimensional teaching program. There are broad opportunities for individual and team performance throughout the year. Students of Maureen's and Colleen's have graced stages at local and regional festivals, as well as world famous concert halls. They have also performed with renowned musicial artists and bands, and appeared on television specials.

We encourage performance as a way for our students to work together towards a common positive goal, to enjoy themselves, and to see the joy that their talents and hard work can bring to others. By sharing their gift for a purpose greater than themselves - to give joy to others - our students can learn the wonderful secret shared above by Barishnikov, one of the greatest ballet dancers ever. And in the process, we create lifelong memories for our students, parents, and audiences.

From a competitive perspective, performance is also a valuable developmental tool. It strengthens the students' character, teamwork, composure and broader sense of self-esteem - all of which are critical to success on the competitive stage, not to mention in life.
